For ElringKlinger, intelligent lightweight design means more than simply reducing weight. We use lighter materials – fiber reinforced plastics, thermoplastics, thermosetting plastics, organo sheet materials (continuous fiber-reinforced or fabric-reinforced thermoplastics) and metallic materials such as aluminum or magnesium – in combination with the latest production processes. This opens up the possibility of increased functional integration with advantages for the customer due to a reduced total number of parts.
