ElringKlinger receives ZF Award for Innovation

Dettingen/Erms, Friedrichshafen, November 23, 2007 +++ ZF Friedrichshafen AG, one of the world's leading automotive suppliers within the field of driveline and chassis technology, has honored ElringKlinger AG with the ZF Supplier Award and the Innovation Award for exceptional performance. The awards were presented as part of an official ceremony staged in Friedrichshafen.

"Mark Fellmann and Annette Baader of the ElringKlinger AG, plant Runkel, are happy to receive the ZF Friedrichshafen AG Innovation Award 2007."
Premium quality, best-in-class technology, efficient logistical processes and competitive price structures are among the key criteria for candidates to be nominated for a "ZF Supplier Award". In addition, ZF has created a special Award for Innovation to be presented to suppliers displaying an exceptional level of innovative drive. In 2007, this award went to ElringKlinger AG.

ElringKlinger's operating facilities in Dettingen, Runkel and Langenzenn supply ZF with specialty gaskets, plastic modules, thermal shielding components and spacer plate systems for automatic transmissions. The award was presented by CEO Hans-Georg Härter on the occasion of the "Materials Management Congress" hosted by ZF Friedrichshafen AG. A panel of ZF representatives specializing in purchasing, logistics, quality assurance and technology determined this year's award winners as part of a standardized selection process.

Attending the event were ElringKlinger Management Board members Dr. Stefan Wolf and Karl Schmauder as well as the company's ZF Key Account Managers Mark Fellmann and Annette Baader, all of whom were delighted by the outcome.

Dr. Wolf, Chairman of the Management Board of ElringKlinger AG, emphasized the exemplary partnership and open-door policy pursued by the two companies, which at ElringKlinger was a tribute first and foremost to the Key Account Managers Mark Fellmann and Annette Baader. "We are particularly delighted at having received the Award for Innovation. We inject between 8% and 9% of sales revenue into research and development each year, which is well above the industry average," said Wolf.
