Annual Report 2006

Once a year, Germany's financial newspaper "Handelsblatt" teams up with the Institute of Public Accounting at the University of Saarbrücken (IWP) for the purpose of analyzing the annual reports prepared by the country's 124 premier exchange-listed companies within the industrial, retailing and services sectors. The results of the most recent study were published at the beginning of November.

The print versions of the annual reports are examined in detail, the main focus being on the quality of information and the manner in which data is presented, together with the overall transparency of the report. In total, the IWP assesses more than 250 individual criteria.

As part of the 2007 company check, the annual report prepared by ElringKlinger achieved 920 out of a possible 1000 points, thus positioning itself in fourth place within the SDAX category. The company came in 13th in the overall ranking, significantly outperforming the average of 790 points scored by SDAX enterprises. ElringKlinger was ranked first among car manufacturers and automotive suppliers.
