»Responsibility and a business outlook do not have to be incompatible. At ElringKlinger, that’s where sustainability management comes in.«

Dr. Wolf – What does sustainability mean to you as an individual?

“For me, sustainability is all about safeguarding our future. At ElringKlinger, the principle of sustainability acts as the starting point for many of the products we develop – products that help to reduce emissions and fuel consumption or that are used in new drive technologies. I see it as a strategic factor that is vital to our future business success.

Sustainability involves the careful use of resources in production and the creation of a motivating and socially balanced working environment for employees within the Group.

Naturally, as CEO, in order to achieve this, I use every means at my disposal – in terms of our long-term and evironmentally compatible development, the success of our business and ElringKlinger‘s wider social responsibility.

Incidentally, ElringKlinger AG was one of the first European vehicle industry suppliers to be actively involved in the Carbon Disclosure Project, a form of sustainability rating. We are now included in the DAXglobal® Sarasin Sustainability Germany Index. Index members are expected to meet comprehensive environmental and social criteria and are inspected regularly to ensure they continue to do so.”
